Europe’s Largest Christmas Tree Returns to Lisbon

Europe’s largest Christmas tree stood for the first time in Lisbon in 2004, and returned in the following years to the very same spot in the city’s Comercio Square ( Praça do comércio ).



Last year it left the Portuguese capital and was instead planted in the country’s second city, Porto.



In 2008 it returned to Lisbon although not in the same square that it called home for two years.
This time it standson Edward VII park overlooking the city all the way down to the river.
t will not be as tall (last time it measured 76 meters), reaching a height of “only” 44 meters due to the fact that the top of the park is much higher than its previous low riverfront location and it could interfere with the airplanes passing by on their way to the city’s airport. However, even with this year’s scaled-down version, Portugal will continue to have the tallest Christmas tree in Europe for one more year.
It was sponsored by different companies for a total investment that reached between one and two million euros, and the lights were turned on on November 22nd. It will brighten the holiday season until January, so i guess you honeyzita can't take a look at it :-(, too bad...

BIG shopping day

Yesterday was the special discount day in " Yata "
a Japanese style department store in Sha Tin New Town Plaza .
after the yoga class in morning , i joined my mum & little sister
there in afternoon . But we haven't buy a lot of things yesterday ,
only a new rice cooker . The price of all those products
wasn't that cheap /special after the discount .

Just a corner in the department store , as you can see , lots of
people picking up X'mas gift / clothes / some daily commodities etc .
The New Town Plaza changed a lot as a renovation
work carried out from Year 2003 - 2006



The bakery shop in the supermarket , i guess this is the reason
i fall in love with the bread . In Hong Kong barkery shop are
in self-serving basis , different from China / some other countries ,



My brunch , salmon pancake roll with avocado and lettcue ,
the salmon is not fishy this time ..lol ...they have other flavors to choose ,
such as ice-cream / saland / creamy fruit etc
as the shop is in open kitchen design . you can watch them to make
your roll and seems not very difficult to make one :-P

Oolong tea :
My flavorites type of tea , is a traditional Chinese semi-oxidized tea
somewhere between green and black in oxidation.
taste more akin to green tea than to black tea, commonly
brewed to be strong , a bitterness leaving a sweet aftertaste.

The Shing Mun River :
the end of the flow will join the Tolo harbour .

In summer , Shing Mun River is a popular place for water sports, such as:
rowing , canoeing , kayaking and rowingdragon boat racing etc ...

Reflection: Mulan soundtrack

I'm not going to say that Mulan was the best movie i've ever watched from Disney animated pictures. But this movie has a special meaning to me, i started listening to the Coco lee version of the song " reflection " some months before my first visit to Hong Kong. At the time, some friends from Hong Kong introduced me to some chinese artists, and Coco Lee was one of them.
I can't forget the first time i saw Hong Kong from the airplane. I felt like a little child and i remember at the time i was listening to this song...

Honey i think you know what is " Hotpot " , a traditional cuisine ( cooking style ) in Asian area .
As you see / know , the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leafy vegetables ,mushrooms,wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce. In many areas ( eg : Mongolia /Korean / Japen / China etc ) , hot pot meals are often eaten in the winter.

we have slices beef / vegetables / mushrooms / different kinda fish balls etc ...
My "slave day " i prepare all this myself , from buying the foods to wish the dishes .... hehe
we can eat hotpot as dinner if you like , i can cook for you :-D

Swimming pool .

The swimmgin pool near where i lived , just 20 mins by walking ,
considering i need to take more time to go to the beaches nearby
in Sai Kung area , i will go to the pool in summer sometime .
the entry fee for adult is $20HKD ( = $2 ERO ) for children/student is $10 ( =$1 ERO )
It has 2 standard pools ( 2 -2.5M deep ) / 3 practice pools ( 1.2 - 1.8 M deep )
3 surf tunnels and a restaurant inside .

My swimming skills is not that good , tho i've learn freestyle before in school
but now , i only know how to swim in breast stroke ..... and the chlorine harm my hair

Today is my colleague's 26's birthday and one of the gal
baked a cake for the celebrating event .
Strawberry cheese cake ... guilty after the big piece ....
fatty tummy coming back ... and i should adding some
more abs training which taught by you before ....lol

Wildfire -- Mo On Shan

There's a wildfire in Ma On Shan yesterday afternoon at 1PM ,
Fires began to burn in Sai Sha Road near the Nai Chung & Ma On Shan village ,
almost affect the water treatment works there and considering may need
to evacuate the residential at the nearby area .
fire fighters fought the fire assisted by helicopters with water buckets.
Full of smoke covered the sky and the flame finally been put out at 8:30AM
this morning after more than 20 hours rescued .
more than 800 -1,000 square miles have been scorched , fortunately no serious
injeries in this case .
Per the polices , fires raised due to the low humidity and strong wind that fuelling the flames .

My tea time today , Chicken pie from the bakery store
downstairs my office , is a bit expensive nowadays ,
i remember last year it only cost $5 , this year $7 .....

Since i'm very concerned with your Portuguese learning, hehehe...here are the best videos for you to learn...lol...actually this vocabulary is not very good to learn, hehehe...i just post them because they are so funny and the pronunciation of the guy is very funny too...lol
So please don't use those words on me...unless i deserve it!!!!







PS: I've decided to post here this uselful video for you to learn by the time you come to Portugal. Even though it's the brazilian variety of Portuguese, it doesn't matter to learn it instead of the European version... the main difference resides in the fact that some vocabulary and also the pronunciation is a bit different... comparable to Australian/ British / American versions of English...even though different at hear they can still be understood between them...



This one is more similar to the European Portuguese pronounciation, hehehe...

My small hands...and my small feet

A lot of friends have mentioned about my hands and feet, it's certainly not giant size but it's certainly a bit bigger than the size expected for someone of my height...




This is my beautiful left foot, lol...as i told you before i think my size is 41/42 European size... the flip-flops you see at the picture are size 43...




It's me comparing a basketball with a volleyball, as you can clearly see in this picture... the basketball is bigger than the volleyball.

The Green Soup

I've tried the Green Soup today as my brunch ,
it is the best soup on Sunday and specially after the heavy BBQ yesterday .
i haven't mash the potato very well as l like some small pieces leave inside the soup .
well...i tried my best to chop the kale / everythings "finely slices " .... i think i
still need some more practices ....
i don't have the chourico at home but i have some smoked ham i found
in my fridge .....so i added inside :-P

BBQ @ Yuen Long

this BBQ party took place in my colleague's house in Yuen Long ,
she owned the upper floor together with the roof .
we off at work at 1PM however due to the traffic jam , we arrived
at 2:30PM ...than go shopping in Super Market for foods & drinks ...
started the party at around 5:30PM .....

Lots od sea food there , we also got some shrimp & fish ...but i haven't
take pictures :-P



well......when everyone is preparing the foods ...i am taking pictures and
having fun with the dog ....



lots of mushrooms and my favories corn with butter ..



the dog .... her breath smells very bad , i swear when she lick me
she also gave me lots of germs ...lol .....
but she stick with me all day long and when i am holding some foods
/ drinks /bread in my hand she will jump up like asking me to share
some with her ....hehe ....



My hubby ..LOL ...he drove me home with his car in the pic
last night ...haha.... he's 13 months now .
