Tattoo -- ancient Chinese proverb

EP
===
As a Chinese , ( hummmm......ok ...maybe some Filipino descent )
of course i like all Chinese character ( words) ,
not only they are beautiful and intricate ,
but also beacuse of the meanings behind and different
written styles / scripts we have , eg : regular- script ,
cursive- script , clerical-scipt ...etc ... And each character
corresponds to a single spoken syllable which usually has a basic meaning....
i also have some favorites chinese characters , such as
龍 ( " lung " , Dragon ) / 雅 ( " nga" , graceful / refined ) / 武 ( "mo " , brave and daring )

To a " gwai lo " ( foreign ) , i guess Chinese character is a picture / pattern to
them more than a " words " .. anyway just take a look at David Beckham's new
Chinese proverb tattoo on his left rib cage he did in March 08 ....
.. needless to explain more i guess ..
The translation of that Chinese proverb in cursive- script are :
"Death and life have determined appointments. Riches and honour depend upon heaven."
in Chinese : 生死有命富貴在天 ( in cantonese : saang say yau meng fu gwai joi tin )

Well....personally i must said the tattoo looks nice not because it is on Beckham's rib ...
( ok ... partly .. 37% ) BUT because it is in Chinese .

To be honest , i also " admire " guys who have the below kinda tattoo style ,

but will i get annoyed of my hubby's tattoo some day in the future ,
just like Victoria Beckham did after knowing her husband have another new
tattoo after Chrismans ( Dec 08 ) -- a Hebrew proverb on his upper left arm reading :
" My son , do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your hearts " ....
I just hope my dear won't get addicted , hooked to the art of tattoo and turn to become like
these people ...
