Too bad i wasn't there...how do you train for the headstand?

i train my headstand step by step . People usually pull up their legs in a stright line , but i don't have a very strong core , i bended my knees and try to raise up my legs into a 90 degree angle ,of course , i do headstand under my teacher's guidances .
