" World New 7 Wonders " is now in the 2nd phase voting ,
i am glad to know that the " Amah Rock " in Shatin , Hong Kong
also became one of the nominee in this campaign .
and successfully entered the 2 phase nominee list .
OF COURSE i voted for this lovely rock , as well as the
" Douro , River / Valley " in Portugal ~~
Some information of " Amah Rock " ( Mong Fu Shek ) --
Located in the entrence to the Lion Rock Tunnwl within
Lion Rock Country Park .
Its a naturally occurring rock stand on the hilltop of
" Lion Rock Hill " , the whole Sha Tin District can be seen from there.
its shape looks like a woman carrying a baby on her back.

According to the legend, the wife of a fisherman
carry her son on her back and climbed to the hills every day,
to wait for the return of her husband,
Day by day , however not knowing his husband
had drowned at sea.
she was turned into a rock by the Goddess of the Sea
As a reward for her faithfulness,
so that her spirit could unite with her husband.

Ohhh...why haven't i heard anything about that A-mah statue??? I didn't know Douro valley was also to be nominated. Maybe i'm not Portuguese at all, but what are the reasons for being a world wonder, lol...i don't think it's that amazing...i never been there, maybe i'm wrong, lol
